Some Goat Milking Pictures

Esther and I milking Susanna.
We have found it easier and faster to both milk at the same time.
We have the stand under a little roof as it had been raining a few days before and we hadn't moved it back out to the small cement pad in front of the barn door.

" I think we are about done here."

Esther is peeking around the goat.

Taking Susanna back to the pen.

Bringing Viola Hope out to the milking stand.
Micah is holding Blackie back as Viola is scared of her.

Stripping Viola out before we milk her into the milk bucket and after we had wiped her off.
Esther and I milking.
Her hand is on the right and mine is on the left.

Bulls Eye!
We hit the hole!

The containers in the milk pail are ice blocks to start cooling the milk off.
This helps a lot with the taste of the goat milk! If it is not handled right it will have the "goat taste" also.

Viola eating.

Micah sitting on the bottom half of the barn door.

I think this is Caleb on the New Holland going to get the rake or mower or something like that.

We did not get any pictures of Rose being milked. The batteries ran out on the camera! :(

Pictures

"Mama, We're hungry!"
I had just set the bucket with the 4 bottles down and there was a Charity and Melchizedek trying to eat.

Melchizedek

Here I am feeding "my babies".
(Okay, I think that I will have to get someone else to get a better picture of dinner time. Trying to feed them and take a picture is, well, interesting!)

Here is Charity who finished her bottle and was trying to steal brother's.

"Okay Sister! My turn!" Melchizedek trying to steal the bottle this time.

Charity is in the back and Love is in the front.

This is Jasmine Jean.
She was born a week after the triplets to the day! ( And she was born on Mr Barker's birthday. Of course we had to name her after him!) Her mama is Rose. I don't bottle feed her! I let Mama Rose take care of her! ~SMILE~

Jasmine Jean or JJ :)

Charity being Charity
( I put the two pictures on backwards! Oops! They are supposed to go in order so you could see her coming to get on me.)

" Well, Hello Mama!"
"You are where I can play on you!"

Love

"What kind of trouble can we get into?"
"You know this wagon is a lot of fun!"

Rhoda playing on the wagon inside their fence.

" I love to jump and play on here."

"Well let's see..."
" How do they make these things? Can you figure it out Titus?"
( Titus is under the wagon on the tongue, and Jasmine Jean is looking at him.)

Rhoda jumping!( She loves to be bouncing and jumping!)
That is it for this post!
Goodbye Everyone!

Update

My "kids" are growing, being a handful and getting spoiled. I can't wait until they are weaned!
Feeding start between 5:30 am or 6:00am, and then the last feeding is about 8:30pm to 9:00pm. I think that I figured that there are about 5 to 6 feedings a day. ( Depending on when I get up and if I remember the feedings on time! )
Um, I am trying to think what else has happened. I am only half brained, as the rest of my brain is sleeping or something like that. ~Smile~
I got the goat fence fixed and they have been staying in. We are going to try to dehorn the kids soon. I just found out that we will be doing their horns in a few minutes.
I have to go feed the wild little ones here in a few minutes. :) I realized that I haven't put any pictures of them up on my blog yet! ( I was going to put some on right now but they were deleted off this computer and so I have to get them off the other one sometime. Or I can try to take some new ones when I go out to feed them.)

Update

Okay, I haven't been on here for several days and thought I should update you all on "my kids".
They are eating, growing, getting spoiled, they like playing and are fun to watch when I go to feed them. Anyone want some kids in about 8 weeks or so? We will have to dehorn the kids here sometime very soon. Not my favorite job! I have to catch the kids for Daddy and Daddy does them for me. ( Daddy also will give them the shots for me and will help with other things that I need help with!)
I just got back in from chasing the goats back in to their pen. I have to figure out a new fencing system or get a new electric fencer. :) The joys of having goats. :) I think the funnest "joy" of having goats is cleaning the pens out. You do get a good work out!
I am looking forward to a good long nights sleep! Getting up between 4:45 to 5:30 Am to feed the kids is not my favorite thing to do either. I like my sleep! But it has not been that bad. I should be getting up earlier anyways. :) Sometimes I go back to bed after I feed them, or I just say up.
Well, I think I should sign off for this post. Hope everyone has a great day!

They are named!

I finally decided on names for the triplets this morning. Because Charity ,the mama goat, died last night I decided to name the nannies after her, so they are Charity and Love. The billy is Melchizedek.
Well, I should get going. It is going to be time to feed the babies after we read the Bible together and then off to bed for me as I have to get up "before the sun" to feed the babies again.
Night everyone!

Charity

Charity the mama goat that kidded last night died this evening. There was some problems and complications during and after birthing the kids. I am not sure what all went wrong.
I am thinking of naming the girls after their mama. But I still haven't decided.
I am not really looking forward to being "mama" to the three kids. It is a lot of work to be the mama to kids. ~Practice I guess. :)
To bed I go now... Early morning tomorrow.

Help name the kids!

Charity had triplets this evening. One Buck and 2 Nannies. ( If I looked right that is!) Now I need some help coming up with some names for them.
Some of the names that we have thought of are; Faith and Hope , Peace and Shalom(for the nannies/ does). Alpha for the billy/ buck. I am open to any suggestions you may have!
